The Ultimate Program for Eating Well and Feeling Great by Dr Don Colbert, M.D
In a nut shell this book talks about a natural diet that was available to humanity several thousand years ago. The diet and lifestyle resembles the Mediterranean way of life today, it also confirms the principles of our very ownTea Cleanse. I am excited to share some of the highlights from this empowering book as I have a renewed sense of confidence that cancer and heart disease are not the inevitable future for everyone, myself included!
We have a fixation with animal protein, however what our bodies actually need is more whole grains & vegetables to form the basis of our daily diet. In its natural, unprocessed state, wheat actually contains amino acids and protein, but the highly processed and bleached breads that we consume today have been striped of their nutrients to create a longer shelf life so manufacturers can make more money while causing their consumers to become addicted to their products through added sugar and artificial ingredients. This is Good News for Bread Lovers, howeveryour going to have to plan to either make your own whole grain orbean bread (my mother in law makes an amazing bean bread, ask me for the recipe) or buysprouted breadfrom the health section of your grocery store. Do not be fooled by 'health' marketing that stretches the truth, whole wheat is NOT whole grain!
There are many medical studies presented in this book that stretch over decades reporting lower incidences of cancer, type 2 diabetes, heart disease & obesity in Nations and Cultures that eat more vegetables than meat and dairy. In fact, our anatomy favors a fruit & vegetable diet, we have 28 teeth dedicated to grinding and tearing plants or biting into fruits & veg, but only 4 teeth that are designed for eating meat. Our intestinal tract and stomach acid favors the ingestion of plant foods, however we tend to consume 50% of our calories from animal foods. Jesus rarely ate red meat, and never ate pig (deemed an unclean animal as it is known to contain parasites in its meat) his daily intake would have been whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans and legumes with olive oil, vegetables and fresh herbs. It was cited many times in the bible that he also ate fresh fish, fruit andrawhoney whenever it was available.
Jesus walked Around the World (24,901.55 miles -distance around the equator)

Have you heard the saying, 'Sitting is the new Smoking'? Do you know why sitting is so dangerous?
One of the main reasons is due to the way our bodies remove cellular waste or toxins: Perspiration and Elimination are the obvious ways, but most people don't know about ourlymphatic system. When the heart pumps blood, it follows two routes: 1.Circulatory system of arteries and veins 2.Lymphatic system-present in all tissues, runs alongside small veins & arteries, maintains the body's immune defenses.
3 times more lymph fluid in the body than actual blood
Approx. 600 lymph nodes that act as filters. White blood cells in the lymph nodes scan the lymphatic fluid for bacteria, viruses, organic debris and other microbes
60% of the lymphatic system is in the intestinal walls
majorly responsible for carrying blood plasma protein throughout the body. Protein is the essential building block for all cells, if the lymphatic system is impaired, protein is unable to get to all of the body's cells efficiently
Lymphatics clear out dangerous LDL (bad) cholestrol and other toxic substances from circulation
The lymphatic system is a passive system, it depends on muscle contractions (movement) to flow. It moves much slower than blood, upwards against gravity, that's why staying hydrated with water & teas are vital to increasing the viscosity of this flow which only happens when we move. Being sedentary circumvents the bodies' lymphatic system from killing viruses, bacteria and other microbes as backed up fluid stagnates and white blood cells become sluggish and blocked. In the Honey & Tea Cleanse we recommend dry brushing to stimulate the lymphatic system before showers as well as hot & cold therapy to help the skin remove bacteria and toxic build up.
Bible scholars have mapped the routes Jesus took from Galilee to Jerusalem and have surmised that on average he walked between 10 - 20 miles per day! More good news for those of us who do not prefer the gym, walking is a natural method of movement that almost everyone can do and it not only activates the lymphatic system but it also increases muscle mass and basal metabolic rate which aids in weight loss.
Once your ready to graduate from brisk walking at least 3 times a week, you can begin aerobic training, like jumping rope or jumping on a mini-trampoline. "Aerobic exercise can increase lymphatic flow threefold! That means three times the amount of cellular waste, foreign microbes, arterial plaque, and LDL (bad) cholesterol is removed." Dr. Don Colbert Chapter 10 p.168-176
Jesus' Dessert was Red Wine & Fruit
The consumption of moderate amounts of red wine (1- 8 oz glass a day, or 2- 4 oz glasses) have been shown to decrease the risk of heart attacks & ischemic strokes. Flavonoids in red wine- especially quercetin, catechin, epicatechin, and resveratrol- all decrease the clotting tendency of the blood. Scientists have found that the properties in red wine (more than 1000 different ingredients and nutrients) caused less stickiness of platelets in the blood which in turn resulted in lower incidences of coronary heart disease. Additionally resveratrol acts as an antioxidant, inhibiting the oxidation of bad cholesterol, reducing the amount of plaque that builds up in a person's arteries. Chapter 8 p.131-133
